Were selecteded 63 farms in Lagoa Santa carste region that notificated to Vet Official Service the ocorrence of agravos in to their produced animals in 2005. In these properties an interview through a questionnaire was carried through that objectified to characterize them in relation to the developed activities, area, animal flock, mortality of year-old calves, sanitary handling, occurrence of the anger and ambient factors related this disease. The results had shown that the productive profile of these properties is milk; it enters the bovines of milk production predominates animal of the Girolando crossing; small e average properties with population bovine of 1 to 50 heads had been most prevalent; it does not have full adhesion on the part of the proprietors to Sanitary Programs Official; the mortality of year-old calves in this region can have the imperfections of sanitary handling and the Lagoa Santa carstica region still preserves its geomorfológicas characteristics
