Resumo: | The process of design of capital projects has been the object of much attention from large companies. Special emphasis has been given to the management methods of the design of these projects, and even more with regard to initial stages of design. In this context, this paper presents a conceptual framework to preplanning stage of capital projects, with emphasis on preliminary definitions that involve the alignment of business with the company's strategic objectives and the definition and development of alternative design. The conceptual structure from an analysis of synergies between a method already widely used in large companies, the Front End Loading and structure of Lean Production Delivery System (LPDS), and procedures proposed for managing projects within the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).From the analysis of possible synergies between the methods cited above, it is proposed a model for managing the conception phase of capital projects, which prioritizes the introduction of concepts and tools of Concurrent Engineering, Set Based Design, Target Costing and VIP´s Value Improving Practices. |
