Resumo: | This work deals with the creation process of company incubators and its subsequent diversification, in varied models, to meet the demand of the innumerable economic and social segments. The first incubators appeared in the United States, and are part of a more complex economic arrangement, that involves urban processes, changes in the role ofstate in the economy, and participation of the private initiative. In one another scope, it is also inserted in the process of changes started by a gigantic expansion of information technology, with the advance of computation, that allows and sometimes determines a complete reorganization of work and production processes. The function of the first incubators was to guarantee that these companies of advanced technology could develop their products and/or services. Now, the incubation models have expanded themselves and, in mid 1990s appeared (in Brazil) the Peoples Cooperative Technology Incubator (ITCP), with the purpose of promoting social reinsertion of marginalized people. Its objective is economic and, consequently, social inclusion of this public. Our work describes, historically technically, the diverse models of incubators, concentrating more on incubators of cooperatives. In the field research, we try to perceive how they are articulating with the client groups they serve. Special emphasis is given to the incubator of Cooperatives of NESTH/UFMG Our phocus on field research is the relation of the incubator with a client group of industrial production. |
