In this research it was evoluated the potencial risk of physical-chemical and a microbiological contamination in two cemeteries in Belo Horizonte. The investigation was performed using contamination parametes. Groudwaters were collected from Wells after a hole seenk in the earth. Metals (Pb, Zn, Ca, Mn and Al) were found levels highter than those recommendable for humans. Concerning microbiological aspects, there were detected in water samples the presence of fecal coliforms. These finding probably indicates that those contamination are relatedto brickwork and coffins of the cemetery. These results also indicates that the groundwater profundity and moviment direction can carry minerals and microorganism from the cemeteries to the surroundings áreas.
