Resumo: We present through this thesis a study of the anticomunists manisfestations built and disseminatedby the Baptist Church of Brazil. To assist in the understanding of these ideological constructions, we will also analyze the representations and approaches in the practical sense of this group with every government over the period studied, emphasizing the contradiction that such a stance posed to a group that claimed as one of its fundamental principles the distance of subjects related to the country's political daily, said "worldliness." However, as we intend to show in the thesis, his fear of the revolutionaries and their antimilitancy led them to approach politics, contradicting his discourse. The objective is to analyze the baptists as a new subject producer and disseminator of anticomunist imaginary, and also assess its importance and impact on brazilian society. We delimit this thesis chronologically on the period from 1917, the year marking the outbreak of the Russian Revolution until 1970, when we realize the reduction, and almost disappearance of the anticommunist speeches by the Baptists. Our thesis is part of the studies that focus on the political cultures in this sense we consider essential to this work the concept of ideology by Pierre Ansart and the reflection on the imaginary concepts, social and political, in the light of Baczko and Girardet in especially the mythology of plot. In an attempt to answer the questions regarding the practices and representations of baptists about communism we consider the conceptual discussion prepared by Roger Chartier; and thinking about the interface between politics and religion were also extremely useful theoretical formulations of Pierre Bourdieu about religious field.
