Resumo: The increasing demand for mineral products on international market is responsible for a relevant growth in mining activities in Brazil. Besides, it has been noticed a growing demand for electricity by the Brazilian society. Within this context, there are competitive activities raising doubts about the interference between these enterprises. For that reason, a conflict situation is presented once the granting of water use for mining activities causes impact in hydroelectric generation activities. When this type of event occurs an analyze process begins in order to quantify the real impact on the activity of power generation that come from reducing the influent flow to the hydro generator system. This project presents a methodology to analyze this impact, where it calculates the reduction of flow due to the granting of water use in face of local water availability. For this it is proposed to study the reduction of the firm energy quantifying the reduction in flow due to water withdrawal for the mining process. At the end of the project it is presented a case study where a real reduction in the generation of SHP can be observed as well as the impact on the expected return for this type of activity.
