Resumo: | The promotion of vitality in public spaces is at the center of contemporary discussions. In the light of the assumption that streets should be planned, designed and managed as spaces for sociability, this research identifies, through a literature review, the physical-spatial aspects of the urban microscale capable of contributing to the increase of its vitality. This dissertation is motivated by the discussion of the influence of urban design in the production of streets that are attractive to people and, based on the theoretical framework, critically analyses the legislation of municipal postures. The object of study falls on the Posture Code of Belo Horizonte, referenced in the center of the city, whose streets show a scenario of diversity of uses, people and activities, where social conflicts and the incidence of legal norms are concentrated. The results are expected to favor ways of thinking and regulating the city in such a way that the conducts and procedures contribute to the production of pleasant and inclusive places. Keywords: Public spaces. Streets. Design. Urban law. Urban planning. |
