Resumo: | This work considers the hypothesis that, over time, critics have obliterated, when dealing with Soul of Africa trilogy, from Antonio Olinto, issues relating to the making of a potent artistic language, capable of sustaining the respective plots of the novels, ensuring them a sense of Unity, on a deeper leven than the one found immediately on the surface of the stories that form the Soul of Africa trilogy. Although the theme of the return of Afro-Brazilians to Africa is inescapable, due to being a fundamental point in the trilogy, it is understood that is methodologically necessary to avoid the distance between this theme and the processes chosen by the writer to elaborate a particular narrative language. In this sense, the mechanisms that formalize an internal necessity of the novel´s language were investigated, promoting the unfolding of the Olitian novel in a trilogy. It stands out, in this context, the operation of the fold (DELEUZE, 1991), an important element for theoretically formulating the contours of the expansion notion and the overflow of the language of the novel. It was aimed in this work, following the path recommended for Almeida (2017) and Risério (2012), the theoretical-critical approach between the operation of the fold and specific elements of Yoruba mythology and culture, fundamental to the trilogy´s elaboration.Through the figure of Exu and the spatiality of Keto´s markets, for instance, it was verified a narrative saving guided by the senses of ambivalence and impurity, that are also identified in the processes of the cultural negotiation among Africa, Europe and Brazil. Therefore, it is indicated the inseparability between the formal plan and the broader senses that a literary may reach. |
