Resumo: | Family agriculture, natural resources and public programs are controversial themes and have attracted the researchers interest on several science branches. The relationship between these themes presents higher complexity when the convergence environment is the semi-arid climate. This dissertation aimed to identify the main family farmers strategies of production and reproduction in the management and use of natural resources and the role of public programs in these strategies. This work also presents results from a case study in the rural community of Roda D'água, in the city of Januária (MG). It was observed that family farmers in this place develop specific strategies for the use of natural resources especially land and water. Productive family activities blend family agricultural production, extractivism and dairy that together with public policies are responsible for integrating the farmers income. Public programs also articulate in the dynamics of their productive strategies always aiming to stay and reproduce their social groupin the territory. |
