Resumo: This study aimed to understand how the inclusion of environmental parameters on product design takes place. Through a literature review, nationally and internationally, it was found that this problem relies on their comprehensiveness and effectiveness, which could be confirmed through field research with designers who practice ecodesign. Therefore, a tool which addresses these weaknesses and based on favorable characteristics to their use by designers was elaborated. The methodology used for the research development was divided into four stages, as follows: i) research regarding the environmental parameters used for product development, spread over ten categories; ii) selection of those parameters suitable for implementation by designers in product design; iii) selection of suitable parameters for wooden furniture, limit established in this work; iv) organization of all these parameters, grouping those that are complementary or address the same subject, i.e. the provision of tools and equipment for the effective integration of environmental parameters. This method allows the design of a tool, named as Parameters Guide in Environmental Design Wood Furniture. Looking at the research validation, half structured interviews were held and focused on the characteristic population, i.e. designers with experience in creating wooden furniture. The analysis of these interviews confirmed the need, importance and real application of this guide in developing furniture with environmental quality.
