Resumo: | It is a research supported by historical-dialectical materialism, inserted in the psychosocial implications of poverty field of study through the theoretical framework of Community Psychology, understanding this as an area of Liberation Social Psychology. The study general objective was to understand whether and how the involvement of young people in Levante Popular da Juventude‟s actions have been enhancing the emergence of strategies to face poverty conditions. There are also specific objectives: a) to analyze young people ways of life involved in Levante Popular da Juventude‟s actions; and, b) to understand coping strategies using analytical categories of poverty psychosocial implications. A methodological course was carried out that consisted in a period of participant observation, registered in a field journal, in Levante Popular da Juventude‟ activities in Pedreira Prado Lopes, on the periphery of Belo Horizonte -MG. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted with two activists from the movement, and interviews mediated by self-photography with two young participants in the movement‟s popular course. Chapter 1 introduces the theme and the study proposal. Chapter 2 presents a debate about the epistemological basis, the ethical-scientific matter and the methodological path. Chapter 3 debates the concept of poverty as a multidimensional phenomenon. Chapter 4 analyzes the young people ways of life throughout the categories of work, social support and experiences of shame and humiliation. Chapter 5 discusses the participation of young people in Levante Popular da Juventude‟s actions as a strategy to face multidimensional poverty, highlighting the activities as conducive experiences for the youth awareness process. The conclusion is that the young people experience in social movements contributes to the recognizing process of themselves and the world, so that young people are able to reframe their individual and collective experiences, opening a window of possibilities for popular organizations to develop collective fighting initiatives to transform their realities. |
