Resumo: | This research presents the application of Equation Universal of Soil Loss (USLE) in the determination of areas vulnerable to erosion area at upstream of PCH Salto do Paraopeba. The main factors of the physical and man-made assets through water erosion process are included in this formulation. Based on a Geographic Information System (GIS) the factors of physical and man-made components through equation were obtained and augers so that then they were certain areas of vulnerability to water erosion. The computed results determined that slightly more than 82% of the area upstream of the PCH has losses below average tolerance for soils that occur in Brazil. Subsequently, the information generated by Equation Universal Soil Loss, were faced with the Map Vulnerability Soil Erosion available on the site of design Ecological-Economic Zoning of the State of Minas Gerais (EEZ-MG). The results are divergent in many instances. Determination and analysis of areas vulnerable to water erosion, built along this research, constitute a powerful tool to grant the appropriate management measures.
