Resumo: This study aimed to start trying to understand moral harassment at work by the investigation of a concrete experience, in order to clarify the manner in which the elements involved in the process interact with each other, producing the phenomenon. The case study of a bank worker was performed through a qualitative methodology. Thus, we analyze the theme proposed by empiric means, noticed that among the elements involved in it are the economic and political landscape in which it occurs and noticed that among the elements involved in it are the political and economic landscape in which it occurs, the corporative strategies developed from this context, an unequal power relationship favoring the explicit abuse by one party and the personal characteristics of the subject. By recovering the conceptual paths one the harassment it was possible to reveal some of the major advances and gaps present in the theme. The results showed that it is a complex issue that cannot be dealt with in a simplistic, nor in a dichotomic way. Discussions and studies on moral harassment still need to go further so that it can be better understood. But we can see that the discussions about moral harassment at workplace, although this is not a new phenomenon, have become more intense nowadays and this fact indicates the importance of being attentive to current forms of violence that have happened in the world of work, as a result of economic and social changes
