The aim of this study is to describe the mortality patterns of urban beneficiaries from the General Social Security Regime for Private Sector Worker (RGPS), who retired due to some disability. Data related to retirement benefits sometime active between 01/01/1999 and 12/31/2002 - were used. Crude death rates were achieved by simple age and by benefits duration after the retirement, for men and women. These rates were graduated through Poisson models and used in the construction of the select and ultimate mortality life tables. Men and womens tables were compared between them, with the IBGE 2000 mortality tables and also with select and ultimate tables built by ZAYATZ (2005) for disability insurance beneficiaries from Administration Social Security of the United States of American.
