The aim of this paper is to show the vital function of the tension presentin Hannah Arendts thought, mainly when promoting political freedom andways of reviving political dignity. The development of this topic has as itsessential point and fundamental category the idea of plurality constantlypresent in arendtians articulations. From this inquiry, it is evident the role and presence of the tensions in Arendtians thought, as its location in the public space, and judgment as a faculty capable of articulating the tensions, extracting from them vitality to the politics. Therefore, what blunts from this elaboration is the projection of freedom as politics sense (even this being a fact historically tragic), from the relation with the tensions, however, a theme for further thought and reflection.
