Resumo: Tony Lawson found in the Critical Realism, a theory of social science formulated by Roy Bhaskar, the bases to substantiate his vision of disarray in the Economics, as practiced by the economical mainstream. This dissertation aims to present the the critique produced by Lawson and indicate its foundations that reside in Bhaskar's work, philosopher who contributed immensely for the evolution of the theory of science in the 20th century, being considered the father of the Transcendental and Critical Realism. According to Lawson, the estate of disarray can be explained by the application of inadequate methods to the object of economic study. With the intent to demonstrate the foundations of Lawson's critique to the mainstream, this text characterizes the methods applied by the mainstream adepts and the objects of their study which have particularities that make the application of these methods incongruent. This ontological characterization of the economical entities based in the Critical Realism justifies Lawson's Critique and derives into very important methodological orientations that can contribute to the advance of Economics.
