Resumo: | My interest in this research results from my own experience as a musician, and as a saxophone teacher. Thus, the main objective of this work is to implement a comparative study of saxophone teaching in Brazilian and Colombian universities on the perspective of six university professors. For the theoretical framework authors, such as Bittencourt (2009, 2010, 2015), Ocampo (2011), Carvalho (2014), Espitia G. (2004), Espitia L. (2015), Fabris (2015), Gontijo (2011) e Pinto (2014, 2005), were studied. The research is organized in four chapters. The first one presents the methodology, which will use as a means of data collecting the semi structured interview, conducted with six university professors from Brazil and Colombia. The second chapter is a brief historical summary of the saxophone, mainly in Colombia and in Brazil. The third chapter is a literature review on the subject of this research in thesis, dissertations and articles that have been written about saxophone and its teaching. The ourth chapter presents the results from the analysis of the content of the interviews and the discussions of those results in light of the theoretical framework. The results point to a great similarity between the teaching of the saxophone in these two countries, with a greater presence of popular music in Brazilian universities. |
