Resumo: | The growing insertion of the alternative power supplies on the electrical grids over the world, especially the wind energy, made necessary the creation of specific legislation to deal with the operation of these equipments under grid faults. The wind turbines, that used to disconnect for protection, now have to sustain operation during the faults and in many countries aid the grid through reactive power injection. The wind turbine topology of permanent magnet synchronous machine and full power converter connected to the grid is currently the most used in the world. This work studies the behavior of such system when submitted to voltage sags. A reduced scale test bench was constructed in order to represent a 2MW system, and allow making tests in a laboratory environment, in a more safe and controlled way. Voltage sag generators were applied to simulate faults on the electrical grid. After the initial results an improvement of the control strategy was studied and implemented. The execution of new tests confirmed the functionality of this strategy and the compliance to the Brazilian grid code. |
