Resumo: | One of the most employed methods in the shielding of low frequency magnetic fields is the use of metallic material sheets to shield the field font. This work refers to the employment of different kinds of steel sheets in the attenuation of a low frequency (60Hz) magnetic field, generated by an unbalanced triphasic system of four conductors and by one coil. It's established a relation between the performance of these materials in the shielding, with their metallurgic characters as chemical composition and grain sizes. Experiments show that the anisotropy and the variation of the magnetic permeability with the field value are important, however they are not always considered in the projects. Finally, we make an approach about the performance showed by these materials, in which we wmphasize the posibility of achieving one iron binding that contains a high magnetic permeability and low eletric resistance that are indispensable factors for a good shielding |
