Resumo: | The present study is a comparative analysis of the main pathologies observed at the reinforced concrete structure of the Magalhães Pinto Stadium (Mineirão), located in Belo Horizonte MG, having as reference the norms in force at present. Data collected about the pathologies of this great structure in apparent reinforced concrete were used to perform a quantitative analysis of those pathological incidences, and classification of them in agreement with the origin of their formation. The prescriptions of durability included in the norms NBR 6118:2003 and CEB/90 constituted the main guidance for the study, projecting the possible effects of adopting such procedures. The analyzed structure is a 40 yearold building of great proportions, built in apparent reinforced concrete, with well defined active loads, and which didn't suffer strong restoring interventions or recovery up to now, maintaining, therefore, its almost total originality. At the study it is also analyzed the relationship of the carbonation thickness and the position of the existent frames affected by corrosion, seeking to explain the presence of those pathologic manifestations. A comparative study have also been made on the calculations of cracks spacing and width, as compared to the data collected inloco in two beams that support distinct loads; the calculations were performed using both the present norms NBR 6118:2003 and CEB/90 and the earlier NB1/60, the norm effective at the time of the project and construction of the Stadium. Finally, the behavior of deformations found at the Stadium roof and stalls is analyzed, in both the instantaneous deflections and in the longtime deflections of the cantilever beams of the structure, under the action of permanent and accidental loads.
