This research aims to analyze Semana Santa in the city of Ouro Preto, in the state of Minas Gerais, considering the relationship between urban structure and festivities over time. The research starts from the hypothesis that there were changes in rituals and spatial organization after the industrialization and tourism development of the city. The adopted approach considers the material and immaterial heritage inseparable, using tools such as historical study and photographic research to analyze the relationship between landscape and cultural manifestation. The study also highlights the presence of Baroque in Semana Santa processions and the use of public spaces in the city. Moreover, based on bibliographic references and personal experience, it’s evidenced how the festivity constructs a new landscape that alters perceptions and develops new senses of the city. The research results in an analysis of the importance of Semana Santa for the culture and history of Ouro Preto, highlighting its role in cultural construction and the creation of a new landscape, reflecting the processions of this festival.
