Resumo: | The historical period which corresponds to the Modern Movement in architecture presented important innovations to the mode of production of humble homes. The modernist research has left as a legacy to the contemporary civil construction the exclusion of superfluous unnecessary detail, enhancement of the use of the home space (diminished to minimum amount for it to function) and the standardization of constructive elements. The modernist solutions were also a source of inspiration tocommunal buildings constructed by the populist Brazilian govern during the forties. The modern Brazilian era was developed based on the modernization of the cities, sanitation or substructure interventions. This process, however, has strengthend the tendency of pushing away to the peripheral areas the poorer urban dwellers. The program Minha Casa, Minha Vida (PMCMV) is the most recent brazilian public policy in favor of the housing production, which arranges the destination of available financial resources (exclusively) to humble housing. The program, however, lacks of urbanistic criteria, leaving in the private companies hands all the stages of the implementation, from the sketching and approving to the actual building of the real state. The present applied research intends to create a popular community which will add urbanistic and environment supportable criteria to the building technical criteriaestablished by the PMCMV. With the addition of a social extension to a environment supportable development extension, this project aims to do justice to the occupation of the urban soil, setting apart a centralized portion of it to the popular house construction, this way improving the life of its future dwellers. |
