Resumo: | The incidence of lightning on transmission lines can cause an excessive number of faults, even if the line in question is protected by guard wire. Under these conditions, one of the solutions found to improve line performance is the use of surge arresters. However, so that there is not an excessive expenditure of resources, it is necessary to identify the places where such equipment should be installed. Thus, this work proposes the development of a computer application that allows the determination of the optimal placement of the surge arrester in transmission lines. The software can be applied to any transmission line with guard wire, provided they have at their disposal all the necessary information for the correct operation of the application. Furthermore, themethodology allows the allocation of surge arresters is made by tower or phase and also includes various forms of modeling the problem. Regarding the results, simulations are performed considering diferent transmission lines with single or double circuit and using one or two guard wires. The tests indicate that the application meets its objective, because as well as improve the performance of transmission lines, it considers the resource allocation optimally. In other words, the application only uses the amount of surge arresters necessary to reach the faults rate previously established. In addition, a study of the diferent forms of modeling the problem is presented. In this analysis, it isseen that depending on the adopted representation, the results may dizer significantly. Finally, it is important to say that this work is based on the methodology developed in the project ANEEL- P&D 0377 - 06=2005 and therefore it is a continuation of this study. |
