Resumo: Ten years after the 2013 Brazilian protests, the main Brazilian uprising of the twenty-first century, much is still speculated about what that phenomenon on the streets was all about. Showcasing both philosophy and geopolitics, this cartography is devoted to the investigation of such an event, taking in consideration the concepts of multitude (HARDT; NEGRI, 2012, 2014) and hybrid warfare (KORYBKO, 2018; LEIRNER, 2020). Looking at 2013 may be a way to rethink the biopolitical gamble of multitude from a Global South perspective. Thus, divided into three parts, this thesis proposes a dive into the formation of the crowd (both as a concept and as an event) from the embryonic phase, marked by the uprisings of the sixties, to its latent effervescence, in the cycle of struggles of 2011. In this context, both the city and social movements (their formation, differentiation, and performance in contemporary times) come into play as two ways of looking at the multitudinous swarm that expands and occupies diverse urban spaces. Finally, this study is committed to take a dive into the terrain of the 2013 Brazilian protests, mapping its main events and narratives.
