Altogether were five editions the first in the year of 1957 and the last in 1962. Our aim was understand and write a history of the Journey and its details. In the movement to find sources of research two collections had became fundamental: the Memory Center of Physical Education, sport and leisure (CEMEF) and the Public Hemerotheca Luiz Bessa, both in Belo Horizonte. We also realized three interviews with some people who, in their ways, participated of those courses. The corpus documentary was composed of various kinds of sources such as newspapers, photographs, oral testimonial, planning notebook, annais and others. In this movement, know the institutions that promote those courses, the trajectories of the subjects who were ahead of them and were involved in the planning and execution of the Journeys, were interested to us. As well the subjects in circulation in time/space of conclave. Analyzing the sources was possible recognize the Physical Education in Belo Horizonte, on the study period, was linked to the moral Catholics precepts, as well they had a strong link with the military institution. In the Journeys, we can indicate the presence of nuns, priests and military, participating as students, as well as organizing or lecturing. Some participants of the Journey, in their speeches, were recurrent the defense of a physical education linked to the moral and religious precepts. Teachers and students of EEF-MG, as well as teachers of international well-know, attended those meetings giving lectures, classes and courses. The students came from various regions of Minas Gerais, from other states and even other countries. The gymnastics and dancing were present in all editions and we realized that sports were gradually gaining space in these meetings. Although, we were able to identify an emphasis on the subjects related to the pedagogical performance of teaching physical education, as well as in the practice parts of knowledge that involve this discipline. We tried to understand how was the construction of representations of this educational field in the Physical Education International Journey and we can point that those set of courses helped to the constitution of an imaginary on Physical Education in Belo Horizonte, in the late of 1950s and early 1960s. |
