Resumo: | Hot rolled ferrite bainite steels are able to balance high strenght and elongation, characteristic which match requirements of many applications on the automobilist industry. In order to support this sector, ARCELORMITAL TUBARÃO started a project to develop such steel family on its hot strip mill line. This project was developed to evaluate, within an industrial experiment, the effect of finishing delivery temperature (FDT) and coiling temperature (CT) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of hot rolled ferrite bainite steel. It was observed that the lowering of FDT and CT increases the UTS due the grain refinement and presence of acircular constituents. The YS was diminisshed when the CT was lower than 440ºC and FDT higher than 860ºC. THis probably is due the formation of martensite/bainite islands within the soft ferrite grains or due the incomplete NbCN precipitation. Elongation has presented a strong relationship with CT, getting lower when this parameter was decreased. |
