Resumo: This research focuses on the field of studies on the relationship between youth and education. Based on contemporary debates about identity and youth cultures, this research aims at understanding the meanings of rap groups for young women and its possible implications on the construction of the identities of these young women. This research takes as reference that culture and cultural production, mainly around the music scene, are privileged places for the formation and practice of contemporary youth as social actors, providing articulation of identities and references in the consolidation of individual and collective projects. Through a qualitative research with ethnographic focus conducted with two groups of rap from the city of Belo Horizonte - one composed solely by women and the other with a mixed composition - the paper shows the organization, the dynamic, and the performance of these groups in the citys hip-hop scene. This research aims at understanding, from a socio-cultural perspective, who are these young people members of the groups and which roles these groups play in the identity / lives of these young women.
