Resumo:	Justice and customary rights is a study that approaches to judicial resources moved by slaves, manumitted and free persons in the captainship of Minas Gerais between 1716 and 1815. One of the main objectives of this research was the understanding of the functioning of Justice in the colonial times, characterized for the pluralism of judicial references strategically used by the petitioners and also for theinvocation of the customary rights in use in that society.
