Resumo: | The mineral additions have been providing great benefits to the cement concrete Portland, improving their properties in the fresh state and hardened. With the crescent number of industrial residues, resultants of the most varied productive processes, the recycling need appears, avoiding the accumulation of harmful materials to the environment. The residue of polishing of the porcelanato is one of the resulting residues of the ceramic industry and seemingly it doesn't present any use. Brazil possesses four porcelanato factories today. The amount of humid residue of polishing of the porcelanato produced in the factory of CECRISA, in Minas Gerais, it is around 20 toneladas a day. This material is transported and thrown in sanitary embankments of Santa Luzia's city hall, metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte. In this work they was be accomplished the physical and chemical characterization of theresidue of polishing of the porcelanato (RPP) and the influence of his use in cement concretes Portland in amounts of 10 and 20% in relation to the cement mass. They was be appraised the properties of the fresh concrete (workableness, hydration and demand of water), the properties of the hardened concrete (resistance to the axial compression, resistance to the traction for diametrical compression and resistance to the traction in the flexing), the durability aspects (absorption for capillary suction, index of pores and absorption for immersion), activity pozolanic and images of the microstructure of the concrete through the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The research was seek to verify the possibility of the use of the residue of porcelanato polishing as mineral addition to the concrete, improving his acting and contributing to the maintainabledevelopment. |
