Resumo: This paper aimed at investigating the ways that the teachers intervention in the evaluation of students written texts interferes with the development of their textual competence. In the light of Textual Linguistics, this could be investigated from the evaluation of three textual productions of three student-authors.The results found showed that the intervention in the authors texts, as well as the application of the activities, has positively contributed to the development of their writing skills. In general, at the proofreading stage, the students responded only to the comments they were able to understand, made during their earlier productions. This shows that the assessment used has had a positive effect in the development of their writing skills. Furthermore, it has been noticed that the evaluation process of texts can be an opportunity to catalyze a more fruitful relationship between teachers and students.
