Resumo: | This work aimed to discuss the media practices of young media producers, artists and communicators of popular strata. We sought to understand how and what they learned in their activities with digitalmedia. We consider digital media all information and communication technologies, connected or not to the internet, and discussions of the pragmatists related to the concept of media practices, particularly John Dewey and Richard Sennet. The relationship between critical education and knowledge were discussed based on the works of Paulo Freire and Bernard Charlot. The relationship between culture, communication and technologies were thought taking as a reference the cultural studies in Latin America, with the purpose of creating a link between the discussion about the use of technologies and the specific problems of Brazilian popular youth. The study was conducted with young students of Oi Kabum! School of Art and Technology, from Belo Horizonte, which offeredvisual arts, audiovisual and multimedia courses for students and graduates from public schools. We seek to understand which media practices, the relationship between seven young communicators withthe information and the knowledge, what your experiences and your most significant learnings. Through the quantitative data analysis related to students of Oi Kabum! and the interviews with these seven young, we have concluded that they performed several media practices, activities whose multifaceted meanings have indicated different perspectives of production in the use of digital tools to the study, leisure and work. These practices, although limited by the structural life conditions of theseyoung people, have expanded the experience of socialization and learning from all of them. The autonomy to choose the content of his own interests, the relationship of identity with knowledge, the experimentation with expressive and relational skills practices were the main reported learning experiences. We have realized a great demand for technical teachings as result of the lack of training spaces and production of digital culture in schools. On the other hand, the participation in socialmovements and collective artistic production groups appeared as central in the learning experiences with digital media, in the ownership and the production of knowledge, aiming for a close relationship between the technical and creative appropriation, the inventiveness and critical education of a learning that happens (and still does) na tora, a Brazilian expression of language for a learning achieved with own effort and very little school guidance. |
