Resumo: This study aims to understand and analyze the political education of construction workers in Belo Horizonte and metropolitan area. We investigated the experience of the Escolar Popular Orocílio Martins Gonçalves (EPOMG) which is an education populars school focused on literacy, education and politicization of workers who have strong links with the Sindicato dos trabalhadores da Construção Civil of BH (STICBH - Marreta). The specific objectives were: Identify the political elements that the school defends, check the pedagogical collective activities that the school offers, identify activities of the schools coordinators in relation to the process of training and instruction of construction workers; verify the perceptions of the students about their schooling and training process; and about the political views that they have on the working environmental and check the perceptions of the educators of the meaning to teach at the Popular School.The methodological approach is qualitative with primary and secondary data collection (PPP data, newspapers, pamphlets, newsletters, school website) in the school. Were conducted in-depth interviews with teachers and coordinators and focus groups with the students, who are the main subject of this research. We used essentially Marxist classics as a theoretical framework because they bring elements of central analysis to the political education of workers. Basically, we used Marx, Engels, Lenin, Lukács to analyze the social structures and the implications of these in the formation of Man, the educational training process mainly relied on Makarenko, Pistrak, Krupskaya and Mao Tse Tung by reference they bring to discuss a new education in a new society, and the role of politics in education. The crossing data with the theoretical framework provided an understanding of the role that the Popular School has in technical, scientific and policy formation construction workers in more depth. It was possible to realize a great influence of the makareniana pedagogy in school practice with the ongoing discussion of the collectives role. Elements such as the role of work in shaping daily rate at school and in society, the process of forming consciousness political and also in the understanding of education for the working class beyond what is popular education was emphasized in this study.
