Resumo: The main objective of this research is to contribute to the democratization of access to information, as well as to the dissemination of the culture of intellectual property through the elaboration of accessible didactic material on intellectual property for the academic community with hearing and visual impairments at the Federal University of Maranhão . University libraries are important spaces for the construction of knowledge, through them inputs are offered for the generation of knowledge, an important subsidy for the training of professionals with skills and competencies capable of contributing to the economic and social development of the country. In this sense, the Libraries of the Federal University of Maranhão must act proactively so that access to information is guaranteed to the entire community in an equitable manner. This is an applied, exploratory, descriptive, mixed and bibliographic research. A bibliographic survey was carried out in databases and repositories, followed by a mapping of library systems in order to identify the offer of products/services similar to the proposed product. The structuring of the didactic material began with the elaboration of the content of the themes and the definition of the necessary accessibility resources for people with hearing and visual impairments (Libras, audio description and subtitles). The results obtained were: the identification of the library systems of the Brazilian federal universities; the identification of 18 library systems offering products/services related to the intellectual property theme and 35 offering accessible products or services; finalization of the didactic material with the due validation of the target audience, through the application of an electronic questionnaire Google Forms, achieving good accessibility and the request for registration of the didactic material with the Copyright Office. From the above, it is inferred that the research met the proposed objective
