Resumo: |
Breastfeeding is an important moment for the mother-child binomial interaction and involves feelings that requires overcoming to be effective. In public health, the nursing approach to breastfeeding can be performed using the nursing process. Based on this assumption, the study aimed to analyze the Nursing Diagnoses related to breastfeeding in mother-child binomiais that were in exclusive breastfeeding from 0 to 6 months. The methodological approach used was the analytical quantitative research with 31 mother-child binomial accompanied in a basic health unit in São Luís - MA, whose data were collected from September 2014 to January 2015. Data were collected through interviews, physical examination and observation. The data were compiled in Excel software, which did the statistical analysis by the Exact test and chi-square, with a significance levei of p <0.05. About the socioeconomic data, the predominant age group was eighteen to twenty-five, with partners, completed high school, housewife and had low per capita income. Children were predominantly male and aged from forty-six to one hundred and eighty days. The most frequent nursing diagnoses were: Ineffective Breastfeeding (19) and willingness to improved breastfeeding (27). On average, participants had 4.4 Defining Characteristics and 3.1 Related Factors. Among all the Defining Characteristics and Related Factors of these diagnoses only 16 had often above 50% and were used for statistical analysis: Maternal Ambivalence; Maternal anxiety; Mother's desire to provide their milk to the nutritional needs of your child; Mother's desire to keep breastfeeding to meet the nutritional needs of the child; Lack of knowledge regarding breast milk expression; Continuous swallowing; Regular swallowing; Infant is satisfied after a feed; Weight standards of appropriate infant to age; Infant elimination patterns suitable for their age; Effective mother-child communication patterns; Signs release of oxytocin; Symptoms of oxytocin release; Continuous suction in the chest; Regular suction chest; Maternal verbalization of satisfaction with the breastfeeding process. It was identified a statistically significant association between the defining characteristic Maternal Anxiety with marital status (p = 0.04) and gestational age (p = 0.01); Infant elimination pattern suitable for the age with maternal age (p = 0.02); Effective pattern of parent-child communication with the marital status (p = 0.03). Diagnosis provision for Breastfeeding improves statistically significant association with gestational age (32-39 weeks) at birth (p = 0.00), there were no statistically significant associations in other diagnoses. Noteworthy, the factor related Maternal anxiety had significant statistical results with both marital status (no partner) and with gestational age (32-39 weeks). As noted, the study allowed to know in depth the Nursing Diagnosis, the Defining Characteristics and Related Factors found in the mother-child binomial in breastfeeding. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the planning of nursing actions and evaluate the results of these actions |
