Resumo: This research is the result of a bibliographic and empirical study about the Bolsa Família Program and its substitute, the Auxílio Brasil Program, and its main objective is to analyze the perceptions of beneficiaries regarding the impacts and meanings of these modes of state regulation. The subjects of the study are students in the 3rd year of high school at Centro de Ensino Deborah Correia Lima and their respective families, all of whom live in rural communities in the municipality. The focus of the investigation is to listen to the subjects concerned in the programs to try to understand the experiences and representations of a governmental action from the voices and needs of socially disadvantaged individuals. In this context, the main question that guided and supported this research was: What is the impact and meanings of the PBF and the PAB in the lives of students and families assisted by the programs of the Centro de Ensino Deborah Correia Lima? What are the perceptions of these subjects regarding the programs in question? The theoretical bases that guide the study range from sociological classics such as Karl Marx (2013), Emile Durkheim (2002) and Max Weber (2016) to contemporary classics such as Pierri Bourdieu (1998), Robert Castel (1999), Serge Paugam (2002 ), and in the Brazilian context, Peixoto (2001), Sonia Rocha (2006), Ruy Braga (2012), André Singer (2012), among other authors who help us to articulate three essential elements for this research: State, Question Social and Poverty. For the analysis of the insertion of the PBF and the profile of the beneficiaries in the Brazilian context, special mention should be made of the works on the coordination of Maria Ozanira da Silva e Silva (2014), allied to the numerous decrees and news inserted in the digital platforms that helped us to understand detail of the alterations in the PBF and the insertion of its substitute the PAB. For the analysis of the interviews, the works of Brazilian sociologists Alessandro Pinzani and Walquiria Rego (2014) and Martina Ahlert (2013), among others, were essential, since they analyze the program from the perspective of the beneficiaries themselves, using research as a methodology for their work. fieldwork/interviews listening to the voices of marginalized subjects. Therefore, the relevance of this research is to analyze the largest income distribution programs in the country, listening to the voices of the beneficiaries themselves, in a political-social scenario in which negative representations and stereotypes about these policies and their recipients still proliferate.
