Resumo: |
This work is part of the research agenda of the Laboratory of Studies on Political and Cultural Elites (LEEPOC-UFMA), which examines the juxtapositions between the political and cultural domains by analyzing the representations, practices and profiles of agents who position themselves on the Amazon. In this dissertation, we investigate the trajectories (social, cultural and militant) and written productions of four women who have achieved prominence by writing about the Amazon: Bertha Koiffmann Becker, Betty Jane Meggers, Edna Maria Ramos de Castro and Violeta Refkalefsky Loureiro. They were located in a wider universe of the most cited agents in theses and dissertations from different areas of the social sciences at the Federal Universities of Amazonas, Maranhão and Pará. Using a variety of sources and information, we observed their investments, resources and consecrations in relation to their counterparts, who are also male university professors and spokespeople for the region. |
