This thesis entitled THE HEALTH OF OUR PEOPLE: dissemination of scientific and non formal education in the waves of Radio Rural Educator of Maranhao is the work developed in the research group Scientific Culture and Knowledge Production, Postgraduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Maranhao, which focuses its research on science communication, science popularization and public understanding of science terms used in this work with the same sense, in order to find similarities between the actions of promotion and education. To that end, uses oral history as methodology, since in this aspect of qualitative research can explore the relationships between history and memory, which constitutes the essence of this research. Initially a literature review that aimed at the problem reveals that the term popular science faces to build as a field of knowledge. Then we developed the historical spaces of science to find traces of the first actions of scientific education that will subsidize the understanding of the process of institutionalization of science and its popularization in Brazil and more specifically in Maranhao. These aspects were essential to reflect, from the relationship between science and society, the role that science communication plays in today. There was also a brief description about the history of radio in the world and in Brazil, highlighting the social and political contexts of the time, then uncover for the relationship established between the radio and education in Brazil. This discussion of the history of science, scientific publishing and radio, researchers relied on as Luisa Massarani, Ildeu Castro, Wilson Bueno, Jose Reis, Lévy-Leblond, John Durant, Ortriwano, Ferraretto, among others, and served is a basis to delineate the construction of history and memory of feeding programs is Life and Health of Our People, which were broadcast on Radio Rural Educator of Maranhao, in the 1980 and 1990. In this sense, the analysis of narratives of people and other sources who constructed the history of these programs were conducted under the spindle theorist Freire and Popular Education of students of non formal education, as Maria da Gloria Ghon, and allowed to observe Radio programs that Power is Life and Health of Our People constituted important tools in non formal education, become dynamic because the actions that addressed the scientific knowledge as social practice, allowing for a fine time , science was part of everyday life in the periphery and the rural community of Maranhão. |
