Resumo: |
Introduction: The effects of whey proteins supplementation under the renal function and strenght training have been investigated, but dose and intensity still need to be related. Aim: To evaluate the renal function of male Wistar rats after twelve weeks of strenght training and supplementation at doses of 2, 4 and 6g·kg·day -1 of whey proteins. Methods: 64 male Wistar rats were allocated in 8 groups: Control, Sedentary+2g·kg·day-1, Sedentary+4g·kg·day-1, Sedentary+6g·kg·day-1, Trained Control, Trained+2g·kg·day-1, trained+4g·kg·day-1, trained+6g·kg·day-1. The training was vertical stair climbing, with 3 trainings sessions/week with 4 climbs/sessions having intensity of 50%, 75%, 90% and 100%, respectively, determined by the maximum loaded weight test adjusted every two weeks. After twelve weeks, they were placed in metabolic cages for 24-hour urine collection and urine volume, pH, density, proteinuria and glycosuria were analyzed on a reagent strip. It was also quantified by colorimetry proteinuria, Urea and creatinine of 24h. After euthanasia, total proteins, albumin, uric acid, creatinine and serum urea were analyzed. For Histological analysis the glomerular diameter was measured to obtain the radius to verify glomerular hypertrophy. Results: Proteinuria (reagent strip) increased according to the dose in sedentary, the same effect occurred in Proteinuria (quantitative). Serum urea increased in Control. Serum creatinine and creatinine/24-hour increased in dose-response to treatment. Uric acid increased for the trained 4 and 6g·kg·day-1. Protein / creatinine ratio decreased by being attenuated by training. The sedentary supplemented with 4 and 6g·kg·day-1 presented renal impairment confirmed by glomerular hypertrophy. Conclusion: High-intensity resistance training attenuated renal impairment only at a dose of 2g·kg·day-1 of whey proteins. |
