Resumo: This master's dissertation was aimed analyze the student welfare of UFMA, from monitoring process and performance of academic of learnners (Scholars in in a Permanence Program – UFMA). The research was based in the conception of manager and implementing of Permanence Program- UFMA about student walfare. In the technical, mechanisms and/or evaluation approach and performance evaluation of learners/scholarship students of Permanece Program – UFMA, adopted by PROAES- UFMA. And in the contributions of the program for the promotion of permanence of learners/scholarship in economic vulnerability on Campus Dom Delgado, based on spreadsheet evaluation of scholarship/ Academic Improvement of Permanence Program-UFMA during periods of 2016.2, 2017.1 e 2017.2. The Permanence Program UFMA is bound to the National Program of Student Walfare (PNAES) and implemented by the Rectory of Student Assistance (PROAES – UFMA). The methodology adopted was a case study evaluative- descriptive of a qualitative nature based on readings and systematics bibliographic reviews about higher policies education in interdisciplinary way with policy of student assistance and in inherent contents to the theme. This work was based also in desk reviews of the policies of Student Assistance of UFMA. The techniques and tools for data collection was made as of in the elaboration of a questionnaire semi-structered to the application of interview with manager technical team and/ or implementing of Permanence Program – UFMA, that work in PROAES- UFMA. The interpretation and evaluation of the documents, interview and result data collected of the research were based in content analysis according to Bardin theory (2011). This work aimed for thus, identify proactive contributions of the Permanence Program – UFMA, adopted for PROAES for the promotion of residence time of learners in socio-economic vulnerability of UFMA, guided in democratization and promotion of social justice. According to survey results, work results, it was verifield that there was an increase in the percentage of students’ academic achievement index due to the decrease in the percentage of failure per grade and the lack of subjects enrolled semesterly during the period 2016- 2 to 2017-2. Therefore, from the results of the research it was identified that the student assistance, in the Permanence UFMA, contributes to the permanence of learners in socio- economic vulnerability on Dom Delgado Campus. It was concluded emphasizing the importance for the continuity and strengthening of the PNAES, as a public policy, as it allows the promotion of permanence, the completion of the graduate course and the reduction of learners’ evasion and retention in socio-economic vulnerability in higher education. And for providing education with reducing the disparities in academic performance due to the socio-economic differences of the learners on Campus Dom Delgado.
