The thesis in question presents elements for a critical analysis of the organizational processes of software production today. The emergence of new practices and assumptions incorporated into its production process, embodied in the free software, call into question the concept of intellectual property adopted, the hegemonic form today. Questions up here the belief pointing innovations such as dynamic engine of development and the idea that intellectual property is essential to stimulate and maintain the pace of innovation. It starts with a presentation of the context in which the studied phenomenon is manifested - a structural crisis scenario where the prevailing financial dominance and the concentration of capital - in order to explain how the environment is emerging belief that innovations are the solution to ensure productivity increases at work and overcoming the crisis. Shows the way you structure the mechanisms of intellectual property protection in the case of proprietary software, today, highlighting the typical peripheral countries problems with regard to their ability to promote innovation. It discusses the theses on immaterial labor and how is the production value in the information age, highlighting the particular forms of precarious adopted mainly in the periphery of the system. It explains what they are and how they work phenomena such as collective intelligence and peering, in particular the case of collaborative free software, emphasizing because this form of organization of software production tends to be more efficient and how arises the question of intellectual property in this case. It will be, finally, an analysis of the characteristics of new clusters used for the production of free software, especially the concept of intellectual property adopted this model and its importance for the evolution of productivity in this form of organization of production. We conclude that technological innovations such as peering represent a huge productivity leap in the form of organization of production and demand changes in the design of intellectual property, and by extension, in class relations, ideologies and the State to this does not become an obstacle to economic development. |
