Resumo: |
The research deals with the use of the work project in the teaching of Geography. The object of study originated from the need to work on the ethno-racial issue, specifically on reggae, as an element of diffusion of Afro-Maranhão identity in the teaching of Geography in the 7th year of Elementary School. To meet this need, we chose the work project as an instrument of possibilities in mediating the relation between teaching and learning. The study began by making a rationale about the work project, as well as based the distinctions between pedagogy of projects and work projects, which we then position ourselves by the second type of project methodology. In the wake of the work project, we inserted reggae, as an African-American musical genre, since it comes from Jamaica and resonates in Brazil, especially in Maranhão. Thus, the research made a section on the history of reggae in Jamaica and Maranhão. In order to articulate the theoretical foundations with the empirical part, the study had as its research site the Basic Education Unit Rosario Nina, a school that has a student body made up of a majority of Afro-Maranhão. For this a section was made that dealt with the description of the locus of the research; of the methodology tracked; the analyzes and interpretations of the research subjects, who were the school administrators, a Geography teacher and the students of the 7th grade class; and the description of our pedagogical intervention through the product, in the case was a web site, entitled "Reggae in the school context". The research had as general objective to construct a pedagogic web site about reggae in the context of the methodology of the Project of Work in the teaching of Geography in the 7th Year of Elementary Education. In order to base the studies, we appropriate, mainly, the following bibliographical sources: Hernández (1998, 2017); Kilpatrick (1997); Dewey (1985); Boutinet (2002); Silva (2016), Cardoso (1997); White (1999), among others. The investigation constituted as an instrumental case study. The instruments of data collection used were non-participant observation, structured interviews, and mixed-issue questionnaire. The study concluded that the activities developed through the methodology of the work project allowed the students to have more interest in knowing and knowing more about reggae in the context of teaching geography. |
