Resumo: Since the end of the 19th century, language has been a central theme of philosophy. The reason for this involves the need to think about the place of truth beyond the consciousness of the isolated subject, neglected by transcendental criticism. Hence, the linguistic phenomenon begins to be read no longer as an instrument or resource, but as the very means in which thought relates to the objects of the world. The apparent identification between thought (being) and language, however, is the subject of great controversy. On the one hand, the truth of being is dissolved in the horizon of cultural multiplicities, on the other hand it is reduced to the imperative of its linguistic significance. In this framework, we aim to rethink the binomial being-language taking into account silence, as a place of ontological difference in which being really happens in language, insofar as language finds its mortality as an entity. Hence the need to refer to the pensiero debole project of the Italian philosopher Gianni Vattimo, who conceives the truth of being as a historical-linguistic event in the process of dissolution. This brings us back to his essays from the 1980s, in which the aim was to re-discuss the Heideggerian notion of the poetic word, in which being takes place in language, and its original giving of itself, as the resounding of silence.
