Resumo: The research examined the Women Living Without Violence Program in serving transgender and transvestite women at the Casa da Mulher Brasileira in São Luís, Maranhão, from 2017 to 2023. The study contributes to understanding the limitations and potentialities of the program, enriching the debate on the institutional dimension in combating gender violence against transgender and transvestite women. It is a qualitative research conducted through bibliographic and documentary research, public data collection, and structured interviews, enabling an understanding of the problem situation. In this sense, it discusses gender, patriarchy, and public policies to address gender inequalities. It identifies the reality of transgender and transvestite individuals in the social context, analyzing LGBTQIA+ movements and political agendas. Finally, it addresses the Women Living Without Violence Program, describes the political context and operation of the Casa da Mulher Brasileira in São Luís, and presents collected data to assess the services' provision to transgender and transvestite women. The research identified challenges, including the lack of an integrated information system, a shortage of awareness campaigns, and the absence of data on the program's effectiveness. Additionally, the study suggests future directions, emphasizing the importance of continuous research on the Casa da Mulher Brasileira and the fight against gender violence targeting transgender and transvestite women
