Resumo: |
This thesis is part of the theme of environmental conflicts and focuses on the experiences of mobilization in the rural area of São Luís in the face of port expansion and its consequences. It also analyzes the political reaction catalyzed by the expansion works of the São Luís Port Complex (CPSL). To this end, the research focused on a bibliographic review, reading of documents from government agencies and private companies, fieldwork, port movement data, and reading of news articles and reports. The study reconstructed the process of resistance that generated the political reaction through alliances of community leaders with university groups, movements, and various social agents. The results present the forms of territorialization and repertoires of collective action activated at the time of confrontation with port expansion. |
