Resumo: This paper addresses the relation between Social Work and the Agrarian Question in Maranhão, with emphasis on mediation of the insertion of Social Workers in FETAEMA and MST-MA. This paper investigates that relationship from the 1990s, considering the expansion of globalized capital in field, under the strategy of confrontation with crisis of the 1970s; that was a movement of capital that contributed to the intensification of the Agrarian Question, within a process that, in Brazil and Maranhão, progresses through agribusiness, with the State as mediator, and in which, field workers organize themselves and strive, but they have find new and important challenges. In the analysis of Social Work, is considered that the debate about the relationship between social service and Agrarian Question, in the context of affirmation of the ethical-political project of the profession in Brazil and the tendency of similarities and differences in this historical relationship; the text focuses on the analysis of this relationship through the identification and characterization of insertion and the practice of social workers in the workplaces of FETAEMA and MST-MA, where the relationship is driven by the prospect of strengthening the struggle, the organization of field workers in the process of coping with the Agrarian Question and ensuring the universal rights of workers. It is considered that the this relationship shows the affirmation efforts of the ethical-political project of Social Work, although it needs articulation of Social Workers of FETAEMA and MST-MA with the professional category in the space of intellectual production, of professional trainning and the practical and political-professional organization.
