Resumo: The work presented here aims to discuss the relationship between the Brazilian executive and the ruralist coalition in the context of national development during Jair Bolsonaro's administration (2019-2022). The implications that such relationships have on the Brazilian development model are precisely the object of analysis throughout the study. Across the four chapters, the argument is made in favor of the thesis that the increased closeness between the Brazilian executive and the ruralists, observed during Bolsonaro's term, steers Brazil away from a development model suitable for its socio-economic system. The first three chapters focus on presenting theoretical concepts, outlining the methodology and research lines, examining precedents, and investigating the structure of agribusiness lobbying, as well as its relationship with Bolsonaro. In the fourth and final chapter, the final argumentative line is constructed. Using a quantitative-qualitative methodology and a comparative methodology located in the last section of the work, the thesis is substantiated by asserting that the relationship between Bolsonaro and the ruralist coalition diverts Brazil from its development potential.
