Resumo: The research MUSEUMS AS EDUCATIONAL SPACES: The Pedagogical Mechanisms in the Processes of Information Dissemination and Knowledge Socialization in Information Units of the Historic Center of São Luís It is part of research line 2 (two) Culture, Education and Technology, the current researcher is linked to the GEPPaC research group. The present research aims to analyze how museum actions carried out in the information units of the historic center of São Luís do Maranhão can be configured as educational and formative activities. Historically, the museum era in the 19th century reflected the growing importance of memory in the construction of national identity. In the 21st century, the democratization and professionalization of museum spaces are essential goals, focusing on the continuous training of sector professionals. The study is justified by the rich historical and cultural heritage of São Luís, offering a unique opportunity to explore the relationships between museums and schools and the educational processes that occur within these spaces. The research aims to investigate the methodologies applied in the projects of the museums Fundação da Memória Republicana Brasileira (FMRB) and Centro Cultural da VALE, highlighting the participation of schools and the training of interns and staff of these institutions. The importance of collective and personal memory, as theorized by Maurice Halbwachs and discussed by Ecléa Bosi, is understood in the formation of identities and the educational process. Museums, as spaces for the preservation and dissemination of knowledge, complement formal education and promote the cognitive development of students through exhibitions and interactive activities. The research adopts a qualitative approach, with Historical-Dialectical Materialism as a method, and utilizes bibliographic review and field data collection. Among the collection methods, questionnaires applied to museum staff and analytical observation of school technical visits are highlighted. The study is structured in five chapters, ranging from the analysis of the role of museums in preserving history and culture to the formative and educational practices in these spaces. The field research will focus on the Centro Cultural da VALE and the FMRB, exploring their interactions with the school community. In this way, based on the construction of the objectives of this research, it was possible to conclude the survey and writing of this dissertation based on the analysis of data from the two spaces in which the collections were carried out, therefore, the formative activities were verified and educational aspects of these spaces, in addition to verifying the participation of local schools and the community where the FMRB and the CCVM are located.
