Resumo: | This is a research dedicated to examining the Journal of Physical Education of the Army, moving from a panoramic perspective to collating the notions of childhood portrayed in the journal. For this, its conceptual, pedagogical and (in)formative aspects were analyzed. The option to investigate the magazine stems from the verification of correspondence to the oldest newspaper in the subarea of knowledge called Physical Education, in the national territory, in fact, one of the most influential theoretical contributions whose field has had a considerable temporality. In scientific terms, a qualitative and quantitative perspective was adopted, with the quantitative dimension being the numerical measurement of editions which dealt with the thematic categories found in the analysis and the qualitative connotation the prospecting of the content in order to establish analytical categories, while the emphasis rests on the dimension qualitative. With regard to the (analytical) method, Document Analysis was used. In general terms, the results raise intriguing social problems such as the one that confers understanding, to some extent, of the comprehensive (historical and socio-political) context of the country, extrapolating, in turn, the limits of the reality of the army and serving as a reference to interpret the Constitution of Physical Education as a curricular component nowadays. Added to this, the possibility of obtaining (with some analytical rigor) the ways in which childhoods were portrayed in the magazine, translating the meanings given to children's education and the knowledge related to them, according to the groups and ideas advertised in the magazine. |
