Resumo: Understanding education as a macro process that permeates various social institutions and that aims, among other objectives, to train people who are humanizing themselves, with emphasis on citizenship, this research, which is bibliographical and exploratory in nature, aims to investigate the relationship between the religious phenomenon and the challenges of ethical sociability in Brazil. Starting from the question "What foundations/values/principles of Christianity contribute to the construction of ethical sociability in Brazil?", which constitutes the problem of this research, some structural aspects of the religious phenomenon and the origin and history of Christianity were investigated, taking into account since it is the religion with the greatest influence in Western culture and whose context is present in the literary production of different sources. Finally, an attempt was made to establish a dialogue between the religious phenomenon and ethical sociability in Brazil, reflecting on how the ethical postulates of Christianity can collaborate with the construction of a more collaborative and inclusive society. This research is justified because the religious phenomenon is a concrete fact of society and permeates the spirit of all cultures, materializing in the arts, philosophy, education, politics and the foundations of morality. The theoretical references that support the research are the Brazilian thinkers Rubem Alves and Leonardo Boff, as both have a religious vision that materializes in culture and permeates the various fields of sociability: education, art, literature and ethics. As a result, it was found that the maintenance and strengthening of democracy can be the political path for the manifestation of the religious phenomenon, specifically the christian mystic, that is, for the construction of a society open to dialogue, for a more humane education, for respect for diversities, for tolerance, for the care of life, in short, for the strengthening of ethical sociability in Brazil.
