This technical report has as objective to present a diagnosis of the Simplício rural community, located in the city of Corrente (PI), from the understanding of the various social actors and their socio-productive arrangements, based, predominantly, on the historical and resilient protagonism of family farming. For this, the following investigation strategies were used: questionnaire, interviews, observations, bibliographic research and among others. In which it enabled us to identify the needs, demands and the current level of organization of the agricultural and non-agricultural environment, concomitantly, the food production and marketing, rural extension mechanisms, public policies, as well as social and cultural reproduction of the community. Thus, it allowed us to build strategies for a new productive system (agroforestry) with an agroecological transition, which aims to provide local development, based on a sustainable and solidary perspective.
